Determine appropriate field investigation techniques for historical structure renovations.
Describe methods for adding additional load onto existing footings.
Describe how the LRFD design process compares to traditional ASD design. What are the main differences between the two methods?
Describe the interaction between the structural engineer and the geotechnical engineer �" What are some of the misconceptions structural engineers have about footing design?
Describe potential risks and issues during construction for historical structures that differ from new construction �" how can these risks be mitigated?

About Our Speakers:

Jared M. Green, PE, BC.GE, F.ASCE, Principal, Geotechnical Engineer, LANGAN

Mr. Green has over 21 years of extensive experience ranging from initial subsurface investigations and schematic designs to construction phase oversight for complex projects throughout Philadelphia, New York Metropolitan Area, Upstate New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

Michael Paquette, PE, Associate, Geotechnical Engineer, LANGAN

Mr. Paquette has over 21 years of geotechnical experience in Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, and abroad. Mr. Paquette has worked on a wide range of projects, including school, stadium, hospital, offshore platform, commercial, residential high-rise and low-rise, warehouses, parks, tunnels and waterfront structures.
