Ninth Annual DVASE Golf Outing (Oct 25 2009)

On Friday, September 25, we held our 9th Annual Golf Outing at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ.  Because of the economy, we did not quite know what to expect for attendance.  As it turned out, we had our second best ever attendance at 48 players and our best ever income from the event at $4,481.  Our sponsors are the ones really responsible for our success.  We would again like to thank

The weather could not have been better.  A few clouds gave way to sun and a beautiful 73° day.  We started with coffee and danish at 7:30 and teed off at a little after 8:30.  The course was in very good condition, and play moved along quickly in spite of our sharing the course with another outing.

Lunch was served at the end of play, and we proceeded with our awards and raffle.  The CVM team of Chris Ruiz, Dan Scholz, and  Andy Wilson won $15 Panera gift cards for the best score.  One of the Harman Group teams – Chris Schaffer, Chris Conn, and Todd Campbell won $25 Target gift cards for the most honest score.  Robert Boris of Keast & Hood won a $25 Olive Garden gift card for the longest drive, and Ron Ratigan won the same for closest to the pin.

Our raffle continues to be a popular feature bringing in $500 alone.  Our prizes this year included golf shirts and hats, bags, gloves, a putter, and several 50% off coupons and $50 gift cards from the Ramblewood pro shop.  Other prizes included $50 LL Bean gift cards, a turkey fryer that received a questionable response, a portable GPS, bottles of wine and snacks, an HP combination printer / scanner / photo printer, and a Sony Blu‑Ray & DVD Player.

Everyone seemed to have a good time, and that is our primary goal.  We wrapped up at about 2:30.  Some people claimed to be going back to the office – yeah, right.
